Our Story
At Zimbabwe Missions we seek to share Jesus through faith and works. To achieve this objective we have put together three overarching goals which are evangelism, encouragement, and education. With these goals, we plan and organize programs and projects that aim at bringing many to Christ. We are inspired by many missionaries across the global who work tirelessly in spreading the good news, and we are motivated by the New Testament missionary enterprise led by the likes of Peter and Paul. We hope, at the very least, to do what we can within our means to participate in that great commission of eagerly sharing the Word with the world!

Our Founders’ Story
Nkosilathi was born and raised in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Nkosi is the fourth born child in a family of five children. He attended Nkulumane church of Christ where he was baptized and began to be actively involved in church activities. With the help of his late minister and mentor Brother Austin Vimba, Red McCaskill who came to Zimbabwe through Partners For Africa, and others, Nkosilathi set off for the USA in 2010 to study the Bible in order to later return to Zimbabwe to continue doing the Lord’s work.
Katie, on the other hand, grew up in Colorado and is the oldest of four children. She was raised in a strong Christian household. Her grandfather served many years as an elder at the Southwest Church of Christ in Pueblo, CO. Her father continues to serve as deacon of evangelism and has taught many classes at the Southwest congregation.
Nkosilathi and Katie met at Freed-Hardeman University in 2012. They dated for two years, and in the fall of 2014 Nkosi proposed to Katie. She said yes, and they later married in May of 2015. They both graduated from Freed-Hardeman University. Katie received a Bachelor of Science in Bible Missions in 2016 and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Business Administration. Nkosilathi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies in 2014, as well as a Master of Arts in Ministry in 2015.
Before their move to Zimbabwe, Nkosilathi was the Youth Minister for their sponsoring congregation, the Southwest church of Christ. He taught the youth class on both Sunday’s and Wednesday’s, as well as planning various activities for the youth group. He also preached whenever the opportunity presented itself. The Mpofu family moved to their mission field at the end of September 2018. They pray their efforts will lead many to know Christ Jesus.
